This could be an eventful season in the stands, since we have two youngin's who are new to section 11 who apparently believe we're a bunch of "elderly" fans who won't stand up and cheer. Of course there were some moments in Saturday's 24-17 victory over UAB that did not lend themselves to cheering. But, we stood the whole game.
I imagine if these guys were in Section 5 they'd call those fans beyond elderly, or in other words -- "dead". They don't stand up much at all.
Anyway, I hope to get through this season without having my own butt hauled away by OUPD for punching some 25 year old. (I'm not too worried about who would win the fight, since I'm hoping at least a dozen of you fellow "elderly" fans have my back.......hmmmm, well on second thought......).
It was testy crowd. A good number of folks were disappointed in OU's defense. That might be one reason. I have a sneaking suspicion a good amount of liquid courage was imbibed before the 6 pm kickoff and that might account for some of it. I didn't have anything like that to drink. I just have poor judgment.
Next week's kickoff is at 2:30 pm. We should be more polite to each other in the afternoon sun.
Boomer!
